The Centre for Artificial Intelligence and Robotics (CAIR), located at the DRDO Complex in CV Raman Nagar, Bengaluru, is a premier laboratory of the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), Ministry of Defence, Government of India. The laboratory conducts advanced research and development in areas such as Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, Command and Control systems, Information Security, and Communication technologies. These research efforts contribute to the development of mission-critical systems for secure battlefield communication and advanced information management for defence forces.
Through its six-month internship program, CAIR invites bright and motivated engineering students to participate in research activities of national importance. The internship provides students with hands-on exposure to defence technologies and allows them to work alongside DRDO scientists on real-world projects in artificial intelligence and robotics. Selected interns receive a fixed stipend of ₹5,000 per month, paid according to DRDO guidelines during the internship period.
The internship is open to final-year B.E./B.Tech students pursuing degrees in relevant disciplines from recognized institutions. Eligible branches include Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Electronics Engineering, and Electrical & Electronics Engineering or equivalent subjects. Candidates must be pursuing their final year and should have secured First Division marks in their academic program. The internship offers 7 vacancies in Computer Science/IT/AI-ML related fields and 4 vacancies in Electronics and related disciplines.
Interested candidates must apply through their respective institutes by submitting the duly filled application form to the official CAIR internship email address. The completed application must be sent within 15 days from the date of publication of the internship advertisement, with the subject line “Application for Internship Feb 2026”.
